2013
The founding partnership
Neil Clough and Nicole Plinston founded This Is Prime because of their passion for sales. They wanted to change the industry’s perception and bring a fresh, exciting approach that would showcase how enriching a career in sales can be. Their vision was simple – to make sales a career of choice for the next generation of salespeople.

2014
The launch of Prime
After Neil had finished as a finalist on The Apprentice and Nicole had built a successful sales training business, they decided to launch This Is Prime in 2014. We set up an office in The Boardwalk, Manchester (formerly home to many iconic gigs from bands like Oasis and The Smiths).

2014
First hands-on session
We ran our first-ever Prime Training Day in 2014, hiring our first-ever employee, Kyle Gallagher. Starting as a Sales Talent Resourcer, he has now reached the position of Sales Director and sits on our board.

2016
Being recognised for our success
2016 saw us become a household name in sales recruitment. We were nominated two years in a row as North West Entrepreneur of the Year for start-up companies and nominated for Best Recruitment Company of the Year at the Talk of Manchester Business Awards.

Becoming an award-winning organisation
We finally did it! We were crowned Sales Training Provider of the Year at the BESMA awards after being the runner up for two consecutive years.

Spotify, YouTube, Apple Podcasts you name it we’re on it! Talking to the real people in Sales. Learning about their journey, the things they’ve learnt and the challenges they’ve faced to become top-performing salespeople.

The Awards Just Keep Coming In!
We were so happy to announce that we’ve WON the Best Online Candidate Experience at the Onrec Awards and shortlisted for Best Candidate Care at the Recruiter Awards!

2024
One Decade of Prime!
Year 10 brought lots to celebrate at Prime HQ. We reached our 10 year anniversary in style, as well as Kyle’s 10th year as part of team Prime.
We also became double award-winners this year! For the second year running, we took home the Onrec Best Online Candidate Experience award. We also finally won the coveted Recruiter Award for Best Candidate Care!

We launched our mid-to-senior sales division, which has gone from strength to strength.
We not only help entry-level candidates kick-start their sales careers, but now also support experienced sales professionals in progressing to the next stage of their careers.
