Help transform the future of surveying with drone technology

“Drones have the potential to significantly improve UK productivity.”

Across industries such as land surveying, construction, infrastructure, energy and defence, drones are revolutionising how organisations collect data, inspect assets and manage projects.

A leading Leeds-based commercial drone supplier is expanding its high-performing sales team and looking for ambitious individuals to help drive the next stage of growth.

Already trusted by organisations such as Rolls-Royce, BAE Systems and the Ministry of Defence, the business supplies cutting-edge drone solutions that enable companies to work faster, safer, more accurately and with less environmental impact.

If you’re looking to build a career in technology sales within a sector that’s growing rapidly — and you have a background or education in surveying or geomatics — this is an incredible opportunity.

You’ll be speaking to professionals in the industry you understand, helping them adopt technology that is transforming the way surveying work is done.

To top it off, the company has also been officially recognised as a “Great Place to Work.”

The Role

As a Sales Development Representative (SDR), you will be responsible for generating new business opportunities for the senior sales team.

You’ll be the first point of contact for organisations interested in drone technology and will play a key role in introducing them to solutions that could transform their workflow.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing and qualifying inbound enquiries
• Prospecting new clients through calls, email, LinkedIn and other outreach methods
• Speaking with surveying and engineering professionals to understand their challenges
• Educating potential clients on how drone technology can improve surveying workflows
• Booking meetings and creating qualified opportunities for Business Development Managers
• Working closely with the sales team to identify and convert opportunities
• Consistently working towards daily, weekly and monthly KPIs

Who We’re Looking For

This role is ideal for someone who understands the surveying industry and wants to move into a commercial, client-facing career.

Essential

• A background or education in Surveying, Geomatics, GIS, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Interest in technology and innovation within the surveying industry
• Strong communication skills and confidence speaking with professionals
• Highly motivated with a strong work ethic
• Resilient and positive – sales involves persistence and learning from setbacks
• A genuine interest in building a career in sales

Bonus (but not essential)

• Previous sales or customer-facing experience
• Knowledge of drone technology or geospatial solutions

What’s in it for you?

Excellent earning potential

• Base salary: £26,000
£40,000 OTE in Year 1
• Clear progression where top performers are earning £100,000+ within 3–5 years

Work in a booming industry

Drone technology is one of the fastest growing technology sectors. By 2030, drones could contribute up to $45bn to the UK economy.

Industry-leading training

You’ll receive structured onboarding, ongoing training and access to a dedicated e-learning platform, ensuring you develop the skills needed to become a top performer.

Learn from proven sales leaders

You’ll be mentored by experienced sales leaders who have developed multiple £100k+ sales professionals.

Clear career progression

High performers can progress into Business Development Manager roles with significantly higher earning potential.

Why this role is perfect for surveying graduates

Instead of staying in traditional surveying roles, you’ll use your industry knowledge to sell innovative technology that is reshaping the profession.

You’ll work with surveying companies, infrastructure firms and engineering consultancies — helping them modernise how they capture and analyse data.

It’s a unique opportunity to combine technical knowledge with commercial success.

Apply now and start building a career in one of the fastest-growing technology sectors in the UK.
