Job Description

Lender Relationship Manager

Location: Manchester (Hybrid – minimum 2 days per week in the office or visiting partners)
Salary: £45,000-£50,000 + up to 15% discretionary annual bonus

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established financial services business in a role with genuine ownership and visibility.

You’ll take responsibility for managing a portfolio of key lending partners, helping to strengthen relationships, improve performance and identify opportunities to enhance the way both businesses work together. You’ll have the autonomy to influence change, work closely with senior stakeholders and play an important role in shaping future partnerships.

This is not a sales role. Instead, it’s focused on building trusted relationships, using data to identify opportunities for improvement and driving positive commercial outcomes through collaboration.

If you enjoy working with external partners, influencing stakeholders and making a measurable impact, this could be an excellent next step.

The Role

As Lender Relationship Manager, you’ll become the primary point of contact for a portfolio of lending partners, ensuring strong day-to-day relationships while identifying opportunities to improve performance, processes and customer outcomes.

You’ll regularly review performance data, lead business review meetings, resolve operational challenges and work alongside internal teams to deliver improvements that benefit both the business and its partners.

This is a varied role that combines relationship management, commercial awareness and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop relationships with a portfolio of lending partners.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders at both operational and senior level.
  • Lead regular performance review meetings, presenting insights and recommendations.
  • Monitor key performance metrics and identify trends and opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with partners to improve performance, conversion and customer outcomes.
  • Identify process improvements and work cross-functionally to implement change.
  • Resolve day-to-day operational queries and manage issues through to resolution.
  • Support the onboarding of new lending partners.
  • Provide insight into market trends and partner feedback to support wider business decisions.
  • Ensure the business continues to be viewed as a trusted and valued partner.

About You

You’ll be someone who enjoys building long-term business relationships and takes a proactive approach to improving performance.

You’ll be commercially minded, comfortable analysing data and confident presenting recommendations to senior stakeholders. You’ll enjoy working collaboratively across different teams and thrive in an environment where you can take ownership and influence positive change.

Experience We’re Looking For

  • Experience managing external business relationships within financial services or another regulated industry.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build credibility at all levels.
  • Experience using MI and performance data to identify opportunities and support decision making.
  • A commercial mindset with a track record of driving improvements.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience working cross-functionally to deliver operational or process improvements.

Experience within lending, consumer finance or automotive finance would be advantageous, although applications from candidates with transferable experience in other regulated sectors are also welcomed.

Salary & Benefits

  • £45,000-£50,000 base salary.
  • Up to 15% discretionary annual performance bonus.
  • Hybrid working.
  • Employer pension contributions.
  • 4x salary life assurance.
  • Income protection.
  • Health cash plan.
  • GP access for you and your family.
  • Employee Assistance Programme and wellbeing support.
  • Funded professional qualifications.
  • External mentoring opportunities.
  • Clear career progression.
  • Birthday off.
  • Discounted gym memberships.
  • Cycle to Work scheme.
  • EV salary sacrifice scheme.
  • Paid volunteering day each year.
