The Company:

 

This business is a professional membership organisation that looks to support and encourage cross-sector collaboration across the UK. Leaders at businesses such as Virgin Media, Revolut & ASOS are already members and signed up to the network.

 

Throughout the year, they put on events, conferences, webinars and awards dinners for their members, which they will all have access to. Not only do members get the opportunity to learn, but also to build and grow their network.

 

They’ve grown organically and quickly since setting up 5 years ago, and now they’re looking to welcome a Business Development Lead to the business to help grow their member base!

 

About the Role:

 

As a Business Development Lead, you’ll be responsible for managing the end-to-end sales cycle from initial point of contact, to signing up new members. Typical responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging with people that have previously enquired about membership, or perhaps with people that have previously attended an event or a webinar.
  • Looking to network with other industry leads and professionals and look to generate referrals.
  • Outreach – you’ll be looking to get in touch with potential customers you believe could benefit from having a membership. Cold calling will be quite scarce in this role, but you will be emailing & utilising social media channels.
  • You’ll have a target to achieve £150k in revenue in the first year, you’ll have complete autonomy and how you feel is best to achieve this.

 

About you:

  • Sales Experience – you’ll have a minimum of 12 months sales experience, in the same business. As this is a fully remote role, they do need someone that has some understanding of sales already. Previous use of HubSpot would be a bonus!
  • Initiative – you’ll be given full trust and autonomy, so they’re looking for someone that will be proactive and use their initiative. If you’re someone that will be waiting for tasks to be given to you, then this isn’t the role or business for you!
  • Rapport Building – part of the role will include attending industry events. As a result, you’ll be someone that’s comfortable networking with others in-person at events.
  • Based anywhere in the UK – as long as you have a solid Wi-Fi connection – all is good!

  • Flexibility – Other than attending some of the events, this is a fully remote position. After your probation, you can even look at working abroad (in a similar time zone!). One of the team is working from France next week!

  • Earning Potential – up to £35,000 base, £55,000 OTE (uncapped) + annual bonus based on company performance.
