After a first year that exceeded all Scenes expectations (yes even in the face of COVID 19) theyre on the hunt for exceptional trainees to join their rapidly expanding team.


Scene was set up in the summer of 2019 for the same reason most people start a business. They had learned a lot, honed a skill, seen the good and the bad and believed they could have a positive impact and build something better. It has been 18 months and they now work with some of the world’s most exciting companies, helping them build high-performing teams across Sales, Engineering, Product and Regulatory. Many of these companies have global reach and look for a talent partner who can help them with recruitment in multiple jurisdictions. Scene have supported across the UK, Mainland Europe, the Middle East & Asia, Australia, and the US. Their approach is consultative, partnership led, and they move quickly to secure their clients the best talent.


What theyre looking for.

They aren’t big on standardised KPI’s and metrics. They want you to be able to work out what rhythm and style suits you best and they’ll work with that to get the best out of you. You don’t need to have previous recruitment experience to apply however we know that certain characteristics and behaviours make great recruiters – if the below resonates with you, we’d love to talk:


  • Work ethic – they work hard and when they say they deliver, they do. This can require late nights and early mornings, but their customers’ needs come first. Why does hard work come naturally to you?


  • A history of high performance they want to best in their industry, so they need you to want to be the best too. What results are you proud of, where have you shown the desire to and then ability to, be the best?


  • Outstanding communication – do you have the ability to have detailed conversations, listen, understand and construct logical arguments which can influence people? If so, theyd like to know all about it.


  • Relationship building – does this come naturally? Where have you built great, long-lasting relationships with a diverse spectrum of people? Have you done this in a professional setting?


  • An interest in business  working in recruitment is about so much more than a decent commission structure. You have the opportunity to learn about the world of work. Like anything, to be great, you’ll need to be passionate about the subject, so they will want to know why the economy, entrepreneurship and business interests you.


  • Resilience – moving jobs is an emotional rollercoaster and hiring great people isn’t easy. When you are in the middle of this all day, every day, it can be tough. You will feel the heat and things won’t always go your way. Where have you demonstrated true grit and where have you excelled, when others have given up? Do you thrive under pressure / heavy workloads?


  • Analytical / intellectual capabilities  dealing with lots of information and having the ability to decipher what is relevant and what is not, is one of the most important qualities to being a good recruiter – where you have dealt with large quantities of information and delivered?


  • Ready to accept feedback and learn – with the right mentality, you’ll go into their 12 month program a novice and come out an expert, but they need people with humility, ready to receive feedback, learn quick and work hard to get better. Is this you?


What youll be doing.

  • Becoming an expert at search, using a variety of channels to find leading talent – LinkedIn, job adverts/sites, networking & events
  • Understanding people – uncovering peoples’ motivations, what is important to them, how do they want to grow
  • Provide a careers advisory service, understanding your market, clients and the wider world of business
  • Conduct initial screening & interview processes for candidates against client mandates – testing core skills, competencies and approach
  • Helping candidates prepare for their interviews and ensuring they have the best possible chance of landing the job
  • Building long-term relationships with candidates & clients
  • Negotiation and offer management
  • Working with your recruiter to become an expert in recruitment, the broader field of talent and the vertical you specialise in
  • Working with your recruiter to qualify and understand their client’s business, their mission and the people they need to deliver on it
  • Build the business by updating and maintaining the CRM/ATS tool
  • Ensuring that surveys are sent out every time to candidates, so they can track the candidate experience effectively
  • Conduct business meets with candidates and clients, asking great questions to understand them and their business
  • Build networks of talent and clients that enable you to make a successful transition from trainee to recruiter.

Neil quickly became a highly experienced individual within recruiting and developing sales talent, which led him to be an Apprentice Finalist in 2013.

This experience saw him achieve top salesperson status throughout, as well as breaking the record for the most high-ticket sales ever on a task! Neil is a huge fan of anything football related, but his sporting activities are not confined to just that. He is a regular gym-goer and has taken part in several endurance events, most recently the Gaelforce 64k challenge!

With over 20 years’ experience working in sales environments, Nicole has worked across many sectors for some of the best known global brands such as Virgin Media and Apple. She started her career selling car insurance, and quickly realised she had a natural flair for selling, and turned her skills to a career in recruitment.

During this time, Nicole’s passion for training and development grew, and she decided to study for her CIPD. Training has since been at the core of her expertise, and now she works developing the careers of salespeople and managers, both internally and externally. In her spare time, Nicole is an avid football fan, holding a season ticket at the mighty Crystal Palace! She also claims to enjoy running (but for the record, she really does hate it).

Kyle Gallagher

Associate Director

Kyle joined This Is Prime as a graduate of Business and Marketing. He was the first-ever employee back in 2014, and has progressed to become an integral part of the team. He is now an Associate Director at This Is Prime and manages the team in Manchester. Kyle is also focussed on managing our key client and candidate relationships.
